June 2021 Update

The Board of Directors

At the November meeting we will be electing a new Board of Directors. We are looking for new candidates willing to take on the  duties of the four elected positions:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

We know that some of the board members are stepping down, so we need replacements. If we do not fill the board, we will have to dissolve the club on January 1, 2022.

Club Dues

Anyone who paid club dues for 2020 is automatically paid up for 2021. New members dues are reduced to $2 for the rest of the year. Memberships can be purchased during ticket sales.

Fall Schedule

  • September 9th: Bingo and BBQ. Sandwiches from Mission BBQ (choice of pulled chicken or pulled pork), chips and cookies round out a fun night. Tickets will be on sale Aug 18 to Sep 1. More details to follow.
  • October 14th: Petrina! Scintilating, Vivacious, Incomparable One Woman Show. (BYOS)*
  • November 11th: Annual Trivia Night and Board Elections. Please volunteer! (BYOS)*
  • December 9th: Annual Holiday Party & Dinner catered by Oakwood Smokehouse & Grill. Lot’s of prizes and giveaways.

2022

Look for fun and exciting events in 2022. We’ve begun planning already.

Admission: $1.00 per member, $2.00 per guest accompanied by a member. See guest policy here.

Gaming: There will be approximately 6 races which includes the Daily Double. In each race you may place bets on one or more horses. Each bet is 1 Horse Buck. You may place bets on as many horses as you want and may place more than one bet per horse. The Daily Double is 2 Horse Bucks per bet. You will bet on one horse to win in the first race and one horse to win in the second race. If both horses win their respective races, you win. Please bring $1 bills to purchase your Horse Bucks which are $1 each. Please leave your large denomination bills at home.

Admission: Members $5 per member, $7 per guest accompanied by a member. Price includes 2 slices of pizza, per person. Bring your own beverage and dessert for the table. Club will provide decaf coffee & water.

Tickets on sale at Pimlico Recreation Center 10 a.m — 11 a.m, Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4.

Tables: There will be 8 people at a table. Seats will be assigned when tickets purchased. If you wish to sit together as a group, please purchase your tickets at the same time.

NOTE: Bring $5.00 in quarters. Change will not be available at the event.

Note! This month’s meeting is at the Savannah Center, not Laurel Manor!

Board elections will be in November. Please consider serving your club as a board member. President, Vice President & Secretary are not seeking reelection.
