Late September 2020 Update

As many of you are aware, our president, Charlie Murray, has sold his house, and that he and Mary have moved back to Wisconsin.  For the remainder of this year, or until a general meeting can be held in 2021 to run an election, Tom Winegarden will be running the club along with the current board members.

Due to the new strict guidelines set by The Villages that does not allow live entertainment, we have cancelled October’s event, which was Petrina.  Also cancelled was November’s Trivia as well as December’s Holiday Party catered by Oakwood with entertainment by Suzie Casta.  We have several months in 2021 booked with entertainment, but we will wait to see if things change before we cancel those also.

Some of the other guidelines from The Villages that determined these cancellations are:

  1. Participation is only allowed at 50%, and masks must be worn at all times except for eating.
  2. Only tables of 4 people can be used.
  3. If a caterer is used, they must bring everything including utensils, and must take all garbage with them leaving nothing behind.
  4. The rec. center will NOT provide coffee or water as they have done in the past.

Entertainment: YOU! A rousing few rounds of Left-Center-Right.

Admission: Members $5 per member, $7 per guest accompanied by a member. Price includes 2 slices of pizza, per person. Bring your own beverage and dessert for the table. Club will provide decaf coffee & water.

Tickets on sale at Pimlico Recreation Center 10 a.m — 11 a.m, Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4.

Tables: There will be 8 people at a table. Seats will be assigned when tickets purchased. If you wish to sit together as a group, please purchase your tickets at the same time.

NOTE: Bring $5.00 in quarters. Change will not be available at the event.

Fifty-Fifty raffle will be held.

Note! This month’s meeting is at the Savannah Center, not Laurel Manor!

Board elections will be in November. Please consider serving your club as a board member. President, Vice President & Secretary are not seeking reelection. Those positions must be filled for the club to exist beyond 12/31/18. We urge you to give this some serious thought! Want to run? Contact a board member.

Club President Resigns

Effective May 10, 2018, Jaye Wolfe, President of the Belvedere Social Club has resigned his position. You can read his resignation letter here or find it on the Downloads page in the right sidebar. We wish Jaye and Shirley all the best as they enjoy The Villages life unburdened by presidential duties.

We will keep you posted as to developments regarding Jaye’s replacement.

Annual Trivia Night & Board Elections

Please bring new unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots.
Deposit toys in the receptacles inside our meeting room, not in the lobby!

Admission: $5 per person, guests $7 per person (with guest id and member). Food: BYOB & snacks for your table. Club will provide decaf coffee & water.

Ticket Sales:
Buy tickets in person: on the front porch of Pimlico Rec Center on Wednesday, November 1st and Thursday, November 2nd, 10:00 -11:00am.

Note: This will be the LAST chance to get a refund for September Social tickets. You must exchange the ticket to get a refund. No exceptions.

ADVANCE NOTICE: Our Annual Holiday Party will be held on Thursday, December 14th. Three meal options will be available: Turkey, Tilapia/shrimp, and Beef. Prices will vary depending on your meal choice. Please mark your calendars and watch for exciting details coming your way after Trivia Night.

Reminder: As always, to participate in any event your annual membership dues of $5.00 per person must be paid. Membership is from January through December.
